Privacy Policy
Effective September 3, 2026
The Cranberry Movement ("we", "us") runs thecranberrymovement.com from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This page explains what personal information we collect on the site, why we collect it, where it is stored, and the choices you have. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
Contact form. When you send us a message we collect your first and last name, email address, subject, and message, plus any optional phone number, organization, and inquiry type you choose to add. We also record the page that referred you, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string so we can detect abuse and spam.
Newsletter. When you subscribe we collect your email address, the page you subscribed from, your IP address, and your browser's user-agent string, together with a record of your consent.
Site usage. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors arrive. Analytics sets cookies and collects device and approximate location information. We do not link analytics data to your name or email.
Bot protection. Our forms use Google reCAPTCHA v3, which analyses your interaction with the page to tell people from automated scripts. reCAPTCHA is governed by Google's privacy policy and terms of service.
Why we collect it
We use contact form details only to read and reply to your message. We use newsletter email addresses only to send the newsletter you asked for. We use usage and bot-protection data to keep the site working, secure, and useful. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it with advertisers.
Consent
Submitting the contact form or newsletter form is how you give us consent to use your information for the purpose described next to that form. Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw consent at any time by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did while your consent was in place.
Where it is stored
Form submissions and newsletter subscriptions are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in its Canada (Central) region. The website itself is served by Vercel, whose edge network may briefly process your requests outside Canada. Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA data are processed by Google, which may store data in the United States or elsewhere.
How long we keep it
We keep contact form messages for as long as needed to answer them and to keep a record of our correspondence, then delete them. We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to the settings we have chosen in Google Analytics, currently 14 months.
Third-party services
Pages on this site may embed YouTube videos, link to our Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts, and may display advertising served by Google AdSense. Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and each may set its own cookies when you interact with it.
Your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This site is written for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
When we change this policy we update the effective date at the top of the page. Material changes will also be mentioned in the newsletter.
